MICHIGAN — Michigan added more than 400 new cases of the coronavirus Tuesday, according to the most recent data provided by state health officials.

The state confirmed 441 new coronavirus cases Tuesday, bringing Michigan’s coronavirus case total to 107,812. One more person in Michigan has died from the coronavirus, officials said, bringing the death toll in the state to 6,539.

Michigan reported more than 1,100 new coronavirus cases over the span of Sunday and Monday, officials said Monday. It also added four deaths resulting from the coronavirus. More than 80,000 Michiganders have recovered from the virus.

Michigan is 18th in the U.S. in reported coronavirus cases, according to the World Health Organization. The state is ninth in the nation in coronavirus deaths.

According to the World Health Organization, more than 6.4 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the U.S. Over 193,000 deaths attributed to the virus, and more than 3.7 million recoveries have also been reported by the health group.

Over 27.6 million coronavirus cases have been reported around the world as of Tuesday morning, according to the World Health Organization. More than 899,000 people have died from the virus worldwide, while over 19.7 million people have recovered from the virus.
